M247, a leading global provider of hosting services and data centres, with over €25 million in business in Romania through M247 Global, announces the appointment of Darryl Edwards as Executive Chairman, effective 1 October 2025. Prior to this appointment, Darryl served as CEO of M247 since July 2021.
As CEO, Darryl led M247 through a period of strategic transformation, including the recent sale of its UK B2B connectivity and IT services division to Convergence Group in June. With over 40 years of experience, Darryl Edwards has a strong track record in senior executive and non-executive roles in the telecommunications industry and, over the past 16 years, has worked with several major international private equity firms. Before joining M247, he was President and CEO of ECI Telecom, a company sold to Ribbon Communications (NASDAQ: RBBN) in 2020.
Darryl will work closely with the management team of M247 Global in Romania, which operates the Data Centre in Bucharest – Pipera and an international network with 55 Points of Presence. He will continue to provide strategic guidance, leveraging his extensive industry expertise to support M247 Global’s international growth and innovation in the data centre and global hosting sectors. This appointment underlines M247’s commitment to business continuity and strengthening the company to drive the next phase of expansion in IoT, security, cloud, and the development of its data centre business.
