Mihai Manole, Managing Partner Tema Energy: The Romanian data center market enters a new era, driven by AI Factory projects and record investments from established operators.

Tema Energy, the leading data center integrator in Romania, recorded a turnover of over 23 million euros in 2025, representing a 15% increase compared to the previous financial year. This performance confirms the company’s upward trajectory and reflects the accelerated dynamics of the local data center market, supported by both government investments and significant expansions by private operators.

The Data Center division generated approximately 60% of the revenue, with the remainder coming from the Mission-Critical Infrastructure, Software, and Services & Maintenance segments, respectively. The client portfolio remains balanced between the public and private sectors, with roughly equal shares.

Growth Across All Business Levels

The 2025 advance was driven by several converging factors. The Romanian data center market continued to expand, backed by substantial government investments in digital infrastructure. Railway infrastructure projects were a significant contributor, where Tema Energy delivered command centers that integrate data centers, complex installations, command software, and communication systems. At the same time, the company finalized expansions and upgrades for Vodafone’s data centers in Cluj and Brașov, as well as GTS Cluj, and implemented mission-critical systems for the new gas-fired Power Plant at Mintia.

Growth was also supported by an expansion of operational capacity: over 15 specialists were recruited during the year, and the team consolidated its expertise by participating in more than 30 training sessions and programs in advanced skills: design, integration, commissioning, and servicing.

Mihai Manole MD Tema Energy 2026“2025 followed the company’s steady path of growth in terms of both team and activity, which was directly reflected in revenue and profitability. Market demand was consistent, driven by investments in data centers within the government sector, as well as colocation & telecom. A distinctive highlight of the year was the signing of the first AI Factory projects — a premiere for the Romanian data center market —, which we are already implementing this year.” Mihai Manole, Managing Partner, Tema Energy

2026–2030 Outlook: Sustained Growth and Entering the AI Era

For 2026, Tema Energy forecasts a 20% growth in turnover, aiming to clear the 30 million euro threshold. In the long term, the company aims to reach a volume of at least 50 million euros by 2030. The company has already secured pre-orders, both for new projects and for significantly increasing the installed capacity in existing facilities.

“All established operators in Romania have planned investments in new capacities for 2026–2027, as well as significant expansions of existing data centers, against the backdrop of rapidly growing service demand. All these investments include a dedicated AI-ready component or are hybrid projects capable of hosting both classic cloud and colocation services, as well as power-intensive applications — HPC and AI. This year we are implementing AI Factory projects with racks carrying a load of at least 40–60 kW, and at the same time, we are designing the first ‘next-generation’ AI data centers with capacities of 130 – 150 kW per rack, using DLC (direct liquid cooling) technology. Romania is thus entering the era of locally processed artificial intelligence, through relatively small but technologically state-of-the-art data centers.” Mihai Manole, Managing Partner, Tema Energy

Investing in People and Skills

To support this development, Tema Energy aims to double its current team, focusing on engineers, technicians, automation specialists, project managers, and designers. For 2026, the company has already budgeted a tripling of its investments in training and professional development, with the goal of holding the most experienced and advanced data center design & build team in Romania and consolidating its position as the benchmark integrator on the local market.
