Standardized modular architecture supports phased capacity growth while maintaining operational continuity across multiple sites

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced the successful deployment of a modular data center infrastructure solution for one of Romania’s leading telecommunications providers. Working with local integrator Tema Energy, Vertiv deployed modular infrastructure architecture that enables the operator to expand capacity across multiple sites, while maintaining operational continuity and providing a foundation for future growth.
The telecommunications provider operates mission-critical data centers supporting nationwide mobile, fixed, and digital services. As network demand increased, the telecom operator required a standardized, scalable data center architecture that could be deployed across multiple locations, expanded over time, and adapted to changing capacity requirements without disrupting operations or requiring major infrastructure redesign.
To address these infrastructure challenges, Vertiv deployed standardized modular architecture designed to support high availability, operational efficiency and phased expansion across multiple sites, including:
• Scalable power infrastructure to support capacity growth without major redesign
• Intelligent power distribution and monitoring to improve operational visibility
• Integrated thermal management to maintain efficient and reliable operations
• Modular uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems designed to support high availability and business continuity
• Standardized deployment models to simplify expansion across locations
“Telecommunications providers need infrastructure that can adapt as demand grows without creating unnecessary complexity during future expansions. By deploying a standardized modular architecture across multiple sites, we helped the customer establish a repeatable approach to capacity growth while maintaining operational continuity and consistent performance,” said Laurențiu Dragomir, Business Development Manager, Romania and Republic of Moldova at Vertiv.
“As computing power demands continue to grow exponentially, modern data center architecture must deliver energy efficiency at every level—from power distribution to thermal management. Our project reflects exactly this principle. In collaboration with Vertiv, we delivered an advanced solution built around state-of-the-art technologies, including modular UPS systems, scalable power distribution, and high-efficiency cooling systems. All components were configured as a cohesive, modular infrastructure designed to support high availability, operational efficiency, and sustained performance,” said Ștefan Taciuc, Sales Director – Critical Infrastructure, Tema Energy.
As a result, the telecommunications provider now benefits from a standardized and scalable data center, supporting future expansion with reduced disruption. Integrating Vertiv™ containment with row-based cooling and, where deployed, free-cooling chiller technology stabilizes operating temperatures and supports energy-efficient operations. Furthermore, the modular power train improves deployment flexibility and enhances visibility into power usage at both the rack and room levels.
Beyond design and implementation, Vertiv supports the customer’s long-term performance and uptime through ongoing service and maintenance, delivered by local authorized service partners since 2020.
