Using an artificial intelligence-powered assistant to analyze financial indicators can reduce the time spent on this process by up to 70% and accelerate decision-making by up to 60%, according to an assessment conducted by Selectsoft, a Romanian provider of customized ERP solutions for SMEs. The company tested the solution within its own workflows before integrating it into the financial analysis modules available to its customers.
According to Selectsoft, most implementations have been carried out in companies operating in the retail and manufacturing sectors, where transaction volumes and inventory-related data are high. For these companies, rapid access to information on sales, inventory, or collections can support business monitoring during periods of increased commercial activity, such as Black Friday or the winter holiday season.
To address this need, the company has integrated an AI assistant into its financial analysis modules. Users can obtain information on business management and performance over specific periods, product inventory, as well as outstanding payments from customers and amounts owed to suppliers. They can also request comparisons between different periods or specific information about certain products, without having to manually identify the relevant reports. The solution also supports the use of artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
“AI is changing the way companies use data from their ERP systems, turning analysis into a faster and more accessible process. Entrepreneurs can obtain answers in a very short time and gain a clear view of their company’s performance without relying on manual verification processes. Ultimately, the technology gives them more time to focus on what matters: interpreting results and making decisions,” said Călin Buciuta, Founder of Selectsoft.
The adoption of such solutions is taking place against a backdrop of growing use of artificial intelligence in the business environment. In 2025, 20% of companies in the European Union with at least 10 employees were using AI-based technologies, up 6.5 percentage points from the previous year, according to Eurostat.
Data collected by Selectsoft indicate stronger interest in such technologies among younger entrepreneurs, while data security remains one of the main concerns during the adoption process. To protect financial information, each customer can query only their own database through a secure access system.
Integrating artificial intelligence into ERP solutions is a development priority for Selectsoft, as companies look for ways to simplify access to data and make analytical processes more efficient. The company expects the use of these technologies to continue to grow as AI solutions become more accessible and better adapted to the operational needs of SMEs.
