Viktoria Modesta, the World’s First Bionic Pop Artist, on the Main Stage at the Anniversary Edition of GoTech World 2026

by

GoTech World, the largest B2B expo-conference for IT and digital solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, brings a unique moment to the second day of its 15th anniversary edition, at the intersection of technology, identity, and creative expression. Viktoria Modesta, known as the “world’s first bionic pop artist”, will deliver a keynote on human-centric design and on how technology can augment, rather than replace, human potential. Alongside this, over the course of both days, the regional business and technology community will gather around an agenda featuring 12 thematic stages.

Viktoria Modesta - GoTech World 2026

Viktoria Modesta is an artist who builds her identity and creative voice at the intersection of the human body and technology. After the lower amputation of her leg at the age of 20, she transformed her prosthetic limb from a medical necessity into a platform for art, design, and technological experimentation, becoming an innovative voice in redefining how we perceive the human body, beauty, and the potential of technology.

Her keynote at GoTech World places the human being at the center of technological innovation, challenging the notion that technology diminishes human value. Rather than a discourse dominated by artificial intelligence and automation, her presentation offers a new perspective on how technology can amplify human potential and create new forms of autonomy and expression.

A central theme of her talk is a shift in the way we view assistive technology and the human body: not as means of correcting or compensating for the body’s limitations, but as tools for exploring and redefining them. She encourages the audience to view innovation as a human-driven process, one in which the purpose of technology is to offer us more possibilities, not to replace us.

Landmark Projects at the Intersection of Art, Design, and Technology

Throughout her career, Viktoria Modesta has developed a series of projects that have transformed the prosthetic limb from a medical device into an object of art and design, including:

• Her portrayal of the Snow Queen at the 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony, alongside Coldplay. She appeared in the “Winter” segment, inside an ice cage surrounded by six torch-bearing skaters, wearing a prosthetic covered in Swarovski crystals, visually integrated into the staging and the character’s construction.
• A collaboration with Rolls-Royce for an art film dedicated to the Black Badge model, in which she wore a prosthetic featuring visible electric arcs similar to those generated by a Tesla coil, alongside a shoe designed specifically to accommodate the electronic component and a corset created through digital scanning and 3D printing.
• The Zero Gravity project, which explores what happens to the body, movement, and design when we step outside the constraints of the terrestrial environment. She participated in microgravity flights and, in collaboration with designers and assistive technology specialists, tested prosthetics designed specifically for that environment.

An Anniversary Edition with 12 Thematic Stages and an Exhibition Area Featuring Over 100 Companies
This year’s edition of GoTech World marks 15 years of existence and brings together, over the course of both days, the regional business and technology community around an agenda featuring 12 thematic stages dedicated to artificial intelligence, business transformation, cybersecurity, and technological innovation, alongside satellite events such as the Tax & Technology Summit. With an international lineup and an agenda built around the responsible transformation of technology, GoTech World continues its role as a regional innovation hub and meeting point for business leaders, professionals, and technology companies from across the region.

Alongside the conference agenda, the exhibition area brings together over 100 companies from the IT and digital sectors, presenting solutions for operational efficiency, automation, business development, and innovation support. Among them, Orange Business, the Main Partner of the GoTech World 2026 anniversary edition, spotlights World Live Intelligence and Orange Quantum Defender, drawing on two questions relevant to companies: how to integrate AI into team workflows and how to prepare data protection for the future?

“We are, for the fifth consecutive year, the Main Partner of GoTech World, a partnership through which we support technology adoption and the competitiveness of companies in Romania. GoTech World brings together people, ideas, and solutions, and gives companies the opportunity to understand technological changes, discuss with specialists, and discover what they can apply in their own operations. Orange Business contributes with the expertise and engagement of our teams at every stage of projects for our client companies: from identifying needs and designing solutions to implementation and operations. Artificial intelligence is at the center of this edition, and our role is to help companies choose where it is useful to them, integrate it into existing processes, and protect their data. Beyond solutions, there are people who learn, adapt, and find new ways of working. We are here to help them master technology, use it with confidence, and leverage their experience in a world that keeps changing.”, said Florin Popa, Director of Orange Business.

Live Intelligence is Orange’s generative AI platform that helps employees draft texts, synthesize information, and prepare presentations. It provides access to multiple AI models through a single interface, while allowing the company to manage users and access rights. In this way, it brings AI into everyday work within a framework managed at the organizational level. Orange Quantum Defender is a suite of services and technologies that helps companies prepare for the risks that quantum computing may pose to the cryptography in use today. It combines migration assessment and planning with solutions for securing communications, helping organizations determine what needs to be protected and what changes are required to preserve the confidentiality of information over the long term.

Attendance at GoTech World 2026 is available through the purchase of an access ticket directly on the website www.gotech.world. Depending on the benefits desired by each attendee, five ticket categories are available: Standard Pass (EUR 159), Content Pass (EUR 299), Coding Area Pass (EUR 389, limited to 25 spots, including the selection of a hands-on workshop), VIP Pass, and Expo Pass, which provides exclusive access to the exhibition area and is free of charge.
