M247 Global, the Romanian-headquartered international provider of connectivity, cloud, and colocation services operating across more than 110 countries, today announced the acquisition of Euro Data Center in Brașov (EUDC), marking a significant step in the company’s infrastructure expansion and cloud consolidation strategy.
The newly acquired facility will serve as a strategic second-region node for M247 Global’s Romanian infrastructure, enabling geographically separated disaster recovery capabilities while reinforcing the company’s ability to deliver integrated cloud and infrastructure services.
Located approximately 170 kilometers north of Bucharest, Brașov offers the geographic diversity required for robust business continuity, operating on a distinct seismic profile and power grid segment, while maintaining low-latency connectivity through Romania’s high-performance fiber network. This allows M247 Global to deliver true multi-location architectures within a single regulatory and operational framework.
“Our customers are no longer buying ‘a data center’ — they are buying continuity, and continuity is a function of distance, diversity, and discipline,” said Gherasim Briceag, Deputy CEO of M247 Global. “Brașov gives us a second Romanian region that is genuinely independent at the infrastructure layer, while remaining fully integrated at the service layer. For disaster recovery, this means our customers can move beyond compliance and treat resilience as a live, operational capability.”
The integration of the Brașov site supports the ongoing consolidation of M247 Global’s cloud services portfolio, enabling customers to deploy private and hybrid cloud environments across multiple locations. This allows for active-active and active-passive architectures within Romania, increasingly relevant for organizations operating under regulatory frameworks such as DORA and NIS2.
M247 Global will ensure continuity for all existing customers of the Euro Data Center (EUDC) facility, while progressively aligning services, performance, and operational standards with its global platform. Both existing and future customers will benefit from enhanced capabilities, improved resilience, and solutions delivered at M247 Global standards.
A High-Performance Facility
Originally commissioned in 2014, the Brașov site is a modern, secure, and high-availability data center designed to support evolving infrastructure demands. It enables high-density deployments of up to 9kW per rack and supports rapid scaling of virtualized environments. The facility has achieved a 99.999% historical uptime and incorporates six layers of security, including biometric authentication and 24/7 on-site monitoring. As a carrier-neutral hub, it provides customers with full interconnection flexibility across multiple networks and operators.
M247 Global has committed to a multi-million-dollar investment to modernize the facility and align it with its flagship Bucharest-Pipera data center.
This acquisition is part of M247 Global’s long-term strategy to expand its owned infrastructure footprint and strengthen its position as a European provider of hosting, cloud, and disaster recovery services. By integrating the Brașov data center into its platform, the company enhances its ability to deliver geographically distributed, high-resilience solutions with enterprise-grade performance.
