Early warning is everything. Active stand-off detection enables operators to identify threats in real time, from a safe distance, before exposure occurs.
SEC Technologies, together with its Romanian partner MATE-FIN, is participating these days at BSDA 2026 – Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security, held at ROMAERO, Bucharest, between 13–15 May 2026. The company is presenting its long-range active stand-off detector of of chemical threats, designed for defence, CBRN* protection, emergency response and critical infrastructure security.

The participation at BSDA 2026 highlights the growing need for CBRN technologies that can provide fast, reliable and actionable information in complex security scenarios. In an operational environment where chemical threats, industrial accidents and hybrid risks require rapid assessment, the ability to detect hazardous substances from a safe distance becomes essential for protecting personnel and supporting decision-makers in the field.
SEC Technologies solutions are already available for Romania, with full local availability and support ensured through the partnership with MATE-FIN.
The technology has been demonstrated in exercises in Brasov and Bucharest last week involving the main branches of Romania’s armed forces, multiple units of the Ministry of Interior, and leading technology and research institutes confirming its operational relevance across complex defence and security scenarios and there are already existing agreements in place.
”BSDA 2026 provides an important platform for SEC Technologies to showcase in Romania a capability increasingly vital to modern CBRN defence. With nearly 10,000 documented chemical incidents reported in Ukraine and concerns validated by recent OPCW findings, the need for earlier threat detection is clear. Falcon 4G was designed for combat, not lab conditions. Once exposure happens, reaction time may be gone. Operators need active stand-off detection identifying danger in real time, from a safe distance,” said Sabina Rehusova, SEC Technologies.
Through its involvement, MATE-FIN supports the dialogue between SEC Technologies and Romanian institutions, integrators and specialists in defence, security and emergency response, contributing to the local understanding of advanced CBRN detection capabilities and their potential applications in national and regional security contexts.
Falcon 4G solutions can support a wide range of missions, including , AREA/ZONE RECONNAISSANCE, ROUTE RECONNAISANCE, SPECIAL RECONNAISANCE TASK, AMPHIBIOUS OPERATIONS, harbor protection, and protection of critical infrastruxture overall.
SEC Technologies’ participation at BSDA 2026, together with MATE-FIN, comes at a time when defence and security organizations are increasingly focused on CBRN technologies that combine operational safety, advanced sensing and real-time decision support.
More then SEC Technologies solutions, at its stand in Pavilion A, stand 827, MATE-FIN also presents a broader portfolio of advanced CBRN, EOD and civil protection technologies. These include Mirion solutions for contamination mapping in support of civilian populations in the event of a nuclear incident, the MX908 mobile chemical spectrometer from 908 Devices, a field-proven portable system capable of identifying highly hazardous chemical threats, including Novichok-class nerve agents, as well as SCBA and PAPR systems from Avon Protection for CBRN protection. The portfolio is completed by biological detection solutions from Research International, further strengthening MATE-FIN’s integrated approach to CBRN preparedness, emergency response and operational resilience.
In the EOD field, together with Alford Technologies, MATE-FIN organized a high-level demonstrative exercise near Bucharest for national experts involved in preventing and countering terrorism, showcasing controlled breaching technologies capable of creating access points through walls up to 50 cm thick, enabling counter-terrorism forces to intervene rapidly and effectively. Complementing the portfolio showcased at BSDA 2026, MATE-FIN is also presenting GENETEC unified security platforms, enabling the integration of applications and systems used in security, critical infrastructure protection, civil protection and operational management, facilitating coordination and real-time decision-making.
